Cross Country

Sierra ran in her final cross country race of the season today. Our city has a cross country program for 4th through 6th graders. It basically consists of four races. The kids are encouraged by their phy.ed. teachers to race, but there is no coaching or training provided. Fourth and fifth graders run a half mile. Sixth graders do a full mile. Each race course becomes progressively harder.

This is always a fun program to take part in, but this year was especially fun because the weather has been so beautiful. Today was a sunny 83 degrees! The year Krissy ran at this course it was snowing!

So... here is Sierra taking off for the final event.

Sierra had a terrific season. She improved her time at each race. She paced herself well. And she had fun! She had her best placing today at 9th!
